a1) IGI Birth: SIDNEY BALM 29/04/1805, baptised 15/07/1813 Salem Chapel New Conexion, Halifax. Parents:John Balm & Sush.

a2) IGI Marriage: John Baum 17/11/1800 St Margarets, Leicester. Spouse:Susannah Chamberlain. Possibly Sidney’s parents marriage. FOR:It’s the only name anything like SUSH and Sidney’s first kid was named Susannah. AGAINST:It’s Baum not Balm & it’s Leicester not Halifax.

a2) On census 1841,1851,1861,1871 with family. Widowed before 1861.

a3) Birth location: 1841:Not Yorkshire, 1851:Unclear, Lancaster, Lanchs?, 1861/71:Halifax. The 1841/51 indicating not Yorkshire are most likely correct, best bets are Lancaster or Lancashire or Lanchester, Durham but maybe Halifax.

a4) Birth: death record in 1879 says birth abt 1802, Censuses say 1801, 1804, 1802, 1803

(iv) Mary Akroyd: birth 20/10/1803, Mount Zion General Baptist, Heptonstall Slack, Yorkshire. Parents:Thomas Akroyd & Elizabeth. OR/AND Mary Akroyd: birth 20/10/1803, Birchcliff General Baptist, Wadsworth And Halifax, Yorkshire. Parents:Thos. Akroyd & Betty.

a2) 1891 Census shows her widowed with 2 kids, on same road as kid Riley & family.

a3) First kids born 1859, so marriage assumed as 1857-1858 in Halifax.

1)   All info before Joseph is based on IGI records. This info needs confirming.

2)   Joseph married Isabella Maudlin 18/12/1858 Halifax. IGI:parents William & Hannah & 12 kids.

3)   IGI: William Crabtree b1793 & Hannah b1797 married 1818 in Halifax.

4)   IGI: William Crabtree baptised 20/04/1794 in either Zion Methodist New Connexion Ovenden or simply in Halifax. Parents listed as Jonas Crabtree & Hannah.

5)      IGI: Jonas Crabtree b1763 & Hannah b1767 married 1788 in Halifax, 3 kids found inc William above.

6)      Zion Methodist New Connexion Ovenden: IGI Batch J133641 1779-1837, Ovenden is in the civil parish of Halifax. Microfilm of original records in the Public Records Office, London. RG-4 Series no. 3407, 3408, 3409 and 3410.
